Trade Logistics

As an international trade consultancy business, Trade Logistics needed to improve their online business to better market their services which include license purchasing, international import and export forwarding, forex and training.

Summary

Trade Logistics contacted Online Marketing Guys after searching for "Online Marketing Company" where they saw our Number 1 Google ranking. The international trade company was lagging behind the competition in organic search results despite their website being online for a longer period of time.

Following an extensive audit a number of SEO and UI/UX issues were identified. A website redesign and new SEO strategy would ultimately result in a 336% increase in organic traffic year on year.

Challenges

The existing Trade Logistics website was not receiving the organic traffic expected as the website was not featuring high up in the rankings for service related keywords. Furthermore 80% of the business enquiries were being generated by a younger sister feeder website and the Google Adwords spend was not yielding sufficient returns. The result was the Trade Logistics brand had been virtually invisible online.

The main challenge was to correct past mistakes and climb the ladder of organic rankings, all the while decreasing Google Adwords spend.

Our Solution

Upon further investigation, over 700 SEO errors were found on the existing website, valuable content was hidden deep within the site and some contextual content was incorrectly embedded as images. The user journey was not considered, the website was slow to edit and a high bounce rate resulted in a negative SEO impact.

It was thus decided that OMG would develop a new website, create valuable SEO content in line with a cohesive SEO strategy and ensure the user journey was taken into account from the beginning.

Results

Organic traffic tripled within 6 months of the new website launch. This in line with a well thought-out user experience resulted in a remarkable increase in enquiries. Page 1 Google rankings were achieved for multiple relevant keywords and a host of new pages were indexed with now visible content - allowing for even more organic SEO gains.

In this particular case study, the cost per click for organic traffic during the first 12 months turned out to be half that of a PPC (Pay per Click) campaign. This fantastic result meant Trade Logistics was now more open for business than ever before!
