Consider These 4 Tips to make your brand POP on social media platforms.

Social media has changed the way our entire world works. Everyone has an equal voice and immediate access to vast networks of friends and followers. Customers are vocal – sometimes passionate about the brands, products and services they use, and what they like and dislike.

More companies are integrating social media into their overall marketing plans. Their goal is to take advantage of the incredible opportunities available in the social sphere, like lead and sales generation and real-time customer service.

Here are 5 tips to help you build your brand with social media.

 1. DETERMINE YOUR GOALS FOR YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

Going online without a focused plan is looking for trouble. Think about what you want out of your campaign. Do you want to have conversations with your customers? Are you a retail company wanting to drive sales? Are you looking for influential social media user to help extend your brand? These things should be considered when setting your goals and once you have them in place you can continue planning your social media strategy.

 2. FIND YOUR ONLINE BRAND PERSONALITY

Before you start your online campaign, you need to figure out how your brand will come across in the social world. Your company/product already has a brand, so it is important to find the social media voice that matches the personality of your brand. The tone of voice is very important. Different social media platforms have different tones. Linked in for example is more formal than twitter or facebook – but then again, it all depends on your brand and what you want to achieve.

 3. DECIDE ON YOUR PLATFORMS

Google+, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, are some of the most popular social platforms, but with hundreds to choose from and new ones popping up almost every day, how do you determine which ones are best for you? If you’re a retailer, Pinterest or Facebook might be for you because of the ability to share images and videos of your products. Companies who want to sharpen up on their customer service skills may prefer the immediacy of Twitter.

 4. TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR FEEDBACK TO CUSTOMERS

Customers love to leave comments on your social media platforms because they want an immediate answer to their questions. Do not ever let a customer’s problem go unanswered on a blog, Twitter or facebook – it is asking for trouble in a BIG way. It suggests you are not listening to what your customers are saying. They way in which you deal with these type of comments could turn a customer from just liking your product to becoming a brand ambassador of your products.

BIG TIP: Do not delete negative reviews or feedback.  By deleting them, you might miss the chance to turn negatives into positives, gain valuable feedback and even improve your brand’s reputation by being willing to acknowledge mistakes and learn from them.

Social media campaigns are one of the most effective tools you can use for building your brand. Best of all – it is free. It is no longer a question do you need social media or not, it is a question of how big or small do you go with social media when it comes to socializing your brand. Use these tips as a starting point to build your brand online.
